Carlos Sainz: I was hurt - I didn't expect to leave Ferrari

Spanish driver Carlos Sainz has now officially become part of the Williams team as he prepares for the 2025 season. Ferrari allowed him an early move to the British team with a shooting day last Monday, followed by post-season testing in Abu Dhabi. The driver learned of his dismissal from the Scuderia before the 2024 championship had even started, which was a blow to the sportsman. "I think at the beginning of the year I was tested more than ever before and life put me in a completely uncomfortable situation. I was told that I would not be playing for a team that I was 99% sure I would continue to play for until the winter. It was a huge shock to my hopes and obviously I wasn't enjoying this moment. I trained and prepared for this season, aiming to be ready to win races and win a championship if the opportunity presented itself. I went into the year full of energy, but obviously with this uncomfortable situation and uncomfortable moment.
